Editorial Reviews

Product Description:
Dinotte’s traditional bar or helmet mounted light uses standard rechargeable batteries. This light allows cyclists of all levels to have a high powered solution that is affordable and flexible. Battery flexibility is a big selling point for 200L AA series lights because battery replacement is available from most electronics stores: (2000mAh AA rechargeable batteries or lithium disposable are recommended). O-rings hold the light engine securely to any handlebar, even if it’s not completely round. Helmet mounting is also an option providing the rider will mount both engine (85g) and battery pack (120g) on the helmet.

Cars flash their high beams if I forget to dim this! by DARKSKY
The best, brightest and smallest light I have ever owned, and I’ve been riding for over 40 years. I got mine directly from Dinotte’s site when on sale for $99, plus $5 shipping. At that price, the helmet mount, batteries, and charger were not included. But I have plenty of AA NiMH batteries and a top of the line La Crosse charger. The light is mounted on my road bike, and I often ride 20 miles of back country roads at 3 AM, when it is a little cooler here in Texas. The light throws a nice white beam, with no hot spots, rings, or other anomolies. A nice even glow that allows me to see nails, potholes, small furry animals, etc. easily in time to take action. The batteries last 2+ hours on high beam. It has high, med, and low constant beams; and slow pulse, rapid pulse and strobe modes for daylight “be seen” use. These pulse and strobe modes are exceedingly bright and should catch any motorists attention. Dinotte also has an amber lens daytime running light available, but I just attached the bottom part of a 1 1/4 inch diameter orange pill bottle over this light with a thin rubber band made from an old bike inner tube, rather than pay >$100! This home-made gizmo gives off an ultra-bright yellow-green colored flashing light that has motorists wondering what is coming their way. The color is almost the same as a Hi-Viz yellow-green road sign or safety vest. There are a couple things that could be improved: First, the light engine will easily mount to standard handlebars with the provided O rings, but if your bars are tapered near the center, flat, or non-standard, you may have to do some modifications to mount the light. I ended up making a raised area on my stem clamp with 3M outdoor double sided sticky foam strips and a piece of curved plastic. I had to find my own larger O ring for this, but now a shifter cable does not run directly in front of the lens. (I did make an inner tube rubber band O ring until I found what I needed at an agricultural store, for irrigation pipe). I wish Dinotte would make a stem mount somewhat like their taillight mount, but with a more forward angle, for this headlight. Second, a nit really; the rear ring of the light gives dim blue or red steady or flashing colors to show the status of the light, mode, and battery condition. In daylight, these status lights cannot be seen. That really is a nit though, since it is pretty easy to figure out without the status lights being visible. If they just came up with the optional mount, I would give it 5 stars. But, all in all, this is the BEST LIGHT ON THE MARKET FOR THE PRICE! And it is even better than many lights that cost much more! I am thinking of getting 2 more for my mountain bike (with standard handlebars). And maybe one to mount on my helmet. WOW! Talk about overkill! If you are not already familiar with this light, I recommend you go to the Dinotte site for more information, and to read the instructions. Also, Dinotte has the best customer service I have used in a long time. I was taliking to a technician who knew what he was talking about when I asked a question. And these lights are MADE IN THE USA!
